Olga Gerovasili
Olga Gerovasili is the Minister of Citizens’ Protection.
She was born in Arta, in Epirus -Northwestern Greece.
She is a Radiologist. She worked in the private sector.
In 1998 she was elected member of the Municipal Council of Arta, while in 2006 and 2010 she stood as candidate Mayor of Arta, leading the “Dimotiki Allagi” and the minor opposition in the Municipal Council.
On the national elections of May 2012 she was elected Member of Parliament with SYRIZA at the region of Arta and became member of the Standing Committee of Public Administration, Public Order and Justice, as well as of the Special Permanent Committee of the Greek Diaspora in the Parliament.
In 2014 she was a candidate Head of the Region of Epirus, leading the “Epirus Anatropi”.
She was reelected during the national elections of January 25, 2015 and was appointed a Parliamentary spokesperson.
In July 18, 2015, she took the oath as State Secretary to the Prime Minister and assumed the duties of Government spokesperson.
Following the announcement of the elections of September 20, 2015, she assumed her duties as spokesperson of SYRIZA.
In September 23, 2015, she took the oath as State Secretary to the Prime Minister and assumed the duties of Government spokesperson.
In November 5, 2016 she took the oath as Minister of Administrative Reconstruction.
In August 28, 2018 she took the office of the Minister of Citizens’ protection.
