Meeting of the Joint Experts Group Committee of the Hellenic Republic and the Republic of North Macedonia on the establishment of a border crossing point in the Prespa Lake area

A 3^rd, extra-ordinary, meeting of the Joint Experts Committee between the Hellenic Republic and the Republic of North Macedonia on the establishment of a border crossing point in the Prespa Lake area was held today (May 28^th, 2021), inThessaloniki.

The Secretary General for Public Order of the Ministry of Citizen Protection, Mr. Konstantinos Tsouvalas, chaired the meeting, which was hosted by the Hellenic Republic, with his counterpart, Head of the Delegation of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Zoran Popov, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two sides discussed the findings of the technical meeting between Members of the Joint Experts Committee and Experts which took place on 24-02-21 at Prespa Lake area, while they exchanged views on ideas and possibilities for the funding of the project by the “INTERREG Greece – Republic of North Macedonia”.

The meeting was very productive and took place within a context of sincerity and mutual trust. Both sides committed themselves to exert efforts for the progress and implementation of the project.
