30-12-2005: Statement by the Minister of Public Order on the assassination of two police officers during detainee transport

PRESS RELEASE

The Minister of Public Order Mr. George Voulgarakis on the occasion of the tragic incident of the assassination of two police officers during detainees` transport stated the following:

“Let me express my deepest regrets to the families of the police officers who died on duty.

A wide police operation is currently under progress to arrest the criminals.

The Hellenic Police Force Headquarters has set off all necessary procedures to investigate in depth all aspects of the case.

The Greek state shall stand by the police officers` families, as provided for in the provisions on violent incidents.”
