The General Secretary of the Ministry of Public Order, Mr. Leonidas Evaggelidis, is on his way to Germany today, so as to attend the proceedings of the 8th European Police Authorities Conference on ¨EU-25 Internal Security – Extremism and Terrorism¨.
The German newspaper ¨BEHORDEN SPIEGEL¨ undertook the initiative to hold this two-day Conference, cooperating closely with the German Federal Ministry of Interior Affairs and the European Parliament Committee for Security and Defense.
Mr. Evaggelidis accepted the invitation of the German newspaper to be one of the Conference speakers and shall, therefore, address the issue of ¨International Political and Military Cooperation through the 2004 Olympic Games – Experiences and Perspectives¨.
The German Federal Minister of Interior, Mr. Otto SCHILY shall make the opening speech at this Conference, also followed by Justice and Interior Affairs Ministers of EU Member-States, representatives of European Police Authorities and high-rank officials of the EU Institutions.
