On the occasion of celebrating the Day against Drugs, the Minister of Public Order Mr. George Voulgarakis made the following statements:
«The 26th of June is a special day against dependence, addiction, isolation and exclusion. It is an occasion for all of us to think more deeply, to inform and receive information, to pull our forces together and stand by the young people. It is a day for all of us to give life a chance, since we all have the right to live.
As far as we are concerned in the Ministry of Public Order, the fight against drugs is enduring. We shall continue to unite all our efforts. I invite all the members of staff to continue this battle against the plague of drugs, keeping up the same determination and sensitivity.»
Note:
On the occasion of this celebration:
- The Hellenic Police Force staff, in the context of young peoples΄ awareness raising on drugs, shall distribute leaflets on Sunday, June 26th, 2005, in various parts of Attica (Thissio, Monastiraki, Pagkrati, Kolonaki, Bournazi, Glifada, Piraeus etc).
- A football match shall take place between the Narcotics Subdivision of the Security Division of Attica and the Therapeutic Community “Strofi”, on Wednesday, June 29th, 2005, at 18H00 at the football ground “Apostolos Nikolaidis”.
